Synthesis of Monodisperse Silica Hollow Sphere with Polystyrene Sphere Core |

The hollow spheres has been considered as important material in wide field such as coating materials, reagent capsulated dye etc.The best method for synthesis of hollow sphere was sacrificial core method because it was synthesized easily monodispersed hollow sphere owing to using highly dispersed polymer sphere core. In this study, we controlled reaction factors and characterized by SEM, TEM, FT-IR in order to synthesize polystyrene core and silica hollow sphere. The polystyrene cores showed sphere and the sizes are in the range of 100-500 nm. The sphere size increased as a rise of initiator concentration and styrene/H2O weight ratio. Particle sizes of silica hollow sphere were affected on size of polystyrene core. The wall thickness of silica hollow sphere is possible in the range of 10 – 50 nm. |
