In this study, we obtained hollow silica with nano-sized using block copolymer template, ionic poly(styrene-block-4-vinylpyridine) block copolymer(PS-b-P4VP), and silica source(TEOS). Self assembly of the block copolymer induces to micro-separated micelle in selective solvents. A generalized mechanism of formation based on the electrostatic interaction between templates and silicates. After calcination, hollow spheres are shown and the size of hollow sphere is 30~100 nm. We predict the structure is produced from isolated organic-inorganic hybrid particles with ionic repulsion between micelles. This hollow structure could be monitored using transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and Field emission-scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) method. Compared with previous studies of hollow silica, these products are nano-sized and smaller than other research. It is expected to various approach such a capsulation of nanoparticles or quantum dots. |
