Stable Lipstick Formulation using Microencapsulation Glycerine for Mosturizing Effect |

Humectants are widely used in cosmetics and as well as in pharmaceutical formulations to enhance moisturizing effect on skin surface. It is generally known that glycerine as humectants is one of the most effective moisturizers through reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) of skin surface because of strong hydrogen bonding with water. Due to the basic composition of lipsticks mainly based on a mixture of oils and waxes, it is difficult to maintain stable structure using polyols humectants in lipstick formulas. With this aim and objectives, an attempt was made to formulate a lipstick by using microencapsulation glycerine and we could have the significant increase of water content on lip surface with good stability. |
