High-Performance Inverted-Type Organic Optoelectronic Devices by Combination of Titanium Oxide-Conjugated Polyelectrolyte |

We demonstrate the remarkable improvement in device performances of inverted polymer solar cells (iPSCs) and polymer light-emitting diodes (iPLEDs) by employing a combination of titanium oxide (TiOx) and conjugated polyelectrolyte (CPE) (TiOx/CPE) as an electron injection/transporting layer. For iPSCs, the CPE layer increased the power conversion efficiency from 2.65 % to 3.55 % by ~23 % and ~10 % enhancements in the short circuit current and fill factor, respectively. For iPLEDs, the device with CPE layer exhibits increased luminance efficiency from 4.3 cd/A to 18.0 cd/A and maximum luminance from 1,850 cd/m2 to 25,800 cd/m2, and reduced turn-on voltage from 4.4 V to 3.8 V at optimized active layer thickness. |
