제목 Studies on Refractive Index and Abbe Number of Glass Fiber-reinforced Plastic with Various Curing Conditions
초록 In this study, transparent glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP) was prepared by controlling a refractive index of the matrix by various curing conditions. The unsaturated polyester resin was selected as a suitable matrix, and the curing condition was monitored from 160 to 180°C of final temperature and 1 to 5 h of holding time. Cure density and thermal stability of the cured resin were observed by differential scanning calorimeter and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. Flexural and impact strength were measured five times in accordance with ASTM D790 and ASTM D256 using a universal testing machine and Izod impact tester, respectively. In addition, the refractive index of the composites was measured using a lens refractometer.
