Skin repair is an important field of the tissue engineering, especially in the case of extended third-degree burns, where the current treatments are still insufficient in promoting satisfying skin regeneration. Currently available skin substitutes often suffer from a range of problems that include poor integration, scarring at the graft margins and a complete lack of differentiated structures. The objective of this study is the development of polymeric artificial skin with good biocompatibility and physical property by using radiation technique. We focused on the preparation and characterization of artificial skin model composed of biocompatible natural polymer and synthetic polymer with high mechanical property for alternative tests to animal experiments. |
