Electrochemical capacitors are promising energy storage devices because of high power density, long cycle life, environment friendliness, and high columbic efficiency. In this study, activated carbons (ACs) are prepared from beer lees by KOH activation in order to obtain carbon materials for electrical double layer capacitor (EDLC) electrodes. To examine the effect of conducting agents, Ketjen black 300 and 600, on the EDLC efficiency, three different cells are fabricated. The electrochemical properties of the ACs prepared are measured by using cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and constant current charge/discharge experiments. |
