In this presentation, we demonstrate facile approaches to utilize carbonaceous materials for a better performance in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Rapid and cost-effective protocols for the fabrication of TiO2 photoanodes decorated with a small amount of carbon species were developed through the calcination of a low-cost, eco-friendly carbon precursors such as glucose and commercially available block copolymers. By distributing carbon species in the TiO2 photoanodes, the power conversion efficiencies of DSSC cell were improved due to the increase in the values of short circuit current compared with that of neat TiO2 photoanode based DSSC cell, accompanying not only the decrease in the series and the charge transfer resistances of photoanodes but also the increase in lifetime of photoinjected electrons. |
