Tissue Engineering Using Extracellular Matrix Derived from Human Fat Tissue |

Extracellular matrix (ECM) has a complex composition including a variety of bioactive molecules. Here we present ECM-based tissue engineering scaffolds derived from human fat tissue. Cellular components including nucleic acids were effectively removed. Major ECM components were quantified, including collagen,glycosaminoglycan, andelastin. In an in vivo experiment using mice, the ECM graft exhibited good compatibility to surrounding tissues. Overall results suggest that the ECM containing biological and chemical cues of native human ECM could be an ideal scaffold material not only for autologous but also for allograft tissue engineering. |
