A response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the synthesis conditions of a monolithic sorbent. The effects of the amount of monomer (mL), crosslink (mL) and porogen (mL) were investigated. The coefficient of determination (R2) for the model was 0.9942, and the probability value (p<0.0001) shown high significance of the regression model. The following optimum synthesis conditions of amount of polymer were selected to amount of monomer 0.51 mL, amount of crosslink 2.94 mL and amount of porogen 2.84 mL. These were predicted by result the regression equation and analyzing the response surface contour plots using Design-Expert software. The amount of synthesized polymer in above conditions was 5057.4 mg. This was in good agreement with the predicted model value. |
