We are reporting a unique organogel that the PEGylated polypeptide solution undergoes “clear sol-to-clear gel” transition as the temperature increases at as low a concentration as 1.0 wt. % in chloroform. Based on the TEM, NMR, DLS, and the viscosity measurement, we concluded that the PEGylated polypeptide form a micelle in chloroform and the solubility of the PEG decreases as the temperature increases. Therefore, the intermicellar aggregation might occur by the shrunken PEG blocks, leading to form a gel. The organic solvents are trapped among the polymeric network of the micelles. |
