Effect of surface treatment of ZnO nanoparticles on dispersion in Poly(vinyl alcohol)/ZnO/TiO2 composite solution. |

Recently, the nano-sized metal oxides have received increased attention due to their various applications such as photocatalyst, sensor, and solar cells etc. Zinc oxide(ZnO) and Titanium dioxide(TiO2) are the popular materials because of its remarkable optical and electronic properties. In this work we attempted to compare the surface treated ZnO with untreated ZnO to enhance nanoparticle distribution in Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) solution. ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by precipitation method and synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were modified by surface heat treatment. Then the ZnO nanoparticles were blended with various amount of TiO2 nanoparticles in PVA solution. Prepared ZnO/TiO2/PVA composite solution was characterized to investigate the effect of surface treatment on distribution of the nanoparticles in PVA solution.
