Metal oxide nanostructures and their applications is the world's first multivolume reference covering a wide variety of advanced research. This presentation covers experimental aspects of metal oxide nanostructures dealing with materials design, synthesis, spectroscopy characterization, structure-property and their applications in catalytic and photocatalytic, environmental cleaning. It presents the synthesis of different shaped iron oxide/hydroxide with distinct crystallographic planes under similar reaction conditions, which can be desired as a model for the purpose of properties comparison with the nanocrystals prepared under different reaction conditions. FESEM, HRTEM and SAED techniques were used to study the morphology and crystallographic orientations of each metal oxide particle and its exposed facets. PXRD and HRTEM techniques used to account the single crystalline nature. The structural, vibrational, and electronic spectra of these nanocrystals were highly dependent on their shape. We found that the different morphology containing different facets show different the photocatalytic activity in similar reaction condition. |
