Simple Rapid Method for the Synthesis of γ,γ-Diketophosphonates |

We recently reported the synthesis of γ-hydroxy-γ-oxaphosphonates which was obtained by reacting the intermediate oxaphospholene with several aldehyde under neutral and mild conditions.We were able to obtain the phosphonate-containing aldol compounds in fairly good yield in a two-step one-pot reaction.In our attempt to extend our methodology, we now report our synthesis ofγ,γ-diketophosphonates.We have discovered by reacting the oxaphospholene intermediate with various acyl chloride under low temperature gives the desired product in quatitative yield. |
