In a fuel cell, the higher electrocatalytic activity of a catalyst guarantees the better performance of the cell. It has thus been required to have a catalyst support that enables the higher electeocatalytic activity of a catalyst, which can be achieved by both controlling the size of a catalyst as small as possible and loading the catalyst particles as high and uniform as possible. To gain the better catalyst supports than ever, we tried to load Pt quantum dots onto poly(acrylic acid) wrapped MWCNTs(PAA-MWCNTs). By changing the molecular weight of PAA and pH of the reaction system, we could successfully control the size, the degree of loading, and the uniformity in the distribution of Pt quantum dots on the PAA-MWCNTs. |
