제목 | Reactive Extrusion of Polypropylene/EPDM/Silica Ternary Blends |
초록 | Thermoplastic polyolefin(TPO) blends based on polypropylene(PP) are extensively used in a wide range of industrial end uses including automotive parts, wire, and cable coating. We have prepared hybrid nano-composites based on silica and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber(EPDM) by an internal mixer, followed by reactive extrusion with PP in a twin screw extruder. Basic correlations among polymer morphology, EPDM on glass transition temperature and stiffness and toughness of nanocomposite have been studied based on the rheology effect and type and amount of per-oxide and coagents. The effects of the EPDM/silica dispersities on the PP matrix have also been discussed. We examined that EPDM spreads on silica in PP matrix and expected to form geometric structure of tern-ary blends via SEM and XRD. |
