제목 Fabrication of Transparent Glass-fabric Reinforced Sol-Gel Hybrid Material
초록 Methacrylate-based organic/inorganic hybrid material(hybrimer), which is fabricated by using methacryl-oligosiloxanes synthesized via sol-gel reaction is characterized to be an excellent optical material having high optical transparency(90%), refractive index tunability(1.40~1.65) and high thermal stability(>200oC). Here, a transparent composite system was fabricated by laminating glass-fabric with the hybrimer. The transparent composite is optically transparent, thermally stable and shows low linear coefficient of thermal expansion(LCTE), which make it suitable as a component for active matrix displays such as flexible LCDs and organic EL displays, touch screen panels and other optical devices including waveguides and lens. The high optical transparency of the final composite material(>87%) could be obtained by matching refractive index of the glass-fabric and the hybrimer. LCTE of the transparent composite was found to be as low as <20ppm/oC by thermomechanical analysis(TMA).
