Enhancement of light extraction from white organic light emitting diodes using ultraviolet nanoimprinted polymer nanostructure |
초록 |
Light extraction efficiency of conventional OLEDs is estimated to be approximately 20%. Most of the generated light does not contribute to increase the luminance efficiency, but is trapped and lost through wave-guide mode and total internal refraction at the glass or metal interface. In this presentation, we report a very simple method to increase the light out-coupling efficiency. A polymer nanostructure with cylindrical pillars has been fabricated with UV nano-imprinting technique and further planarization is done through a sol-gel process with Zinc oxide, which has higher refractive index to improve the light extraction efficiency of OLEDs. The nanostructured layer has been successfully integrated in OLEDs and the resulting light out-coupling efficiency shows 50% enhancement compared to that of the conventional OLEDs. |
