제목 In situ Characterization of Bio-inspired Membranes at the air/water interfaces
초록 The air-water interface has been a preferred surface, due to its neutrality, strong surface attraction for biologically active molecules, and flatness, which permits the free conformational movement of the adsorbed molecules, including amphiphilic polymers and surfactants. Yet, direct access to the liquid contacting surface is somewhat difficult. I will introduce our recent data on polymeric monolayers characterized by various in situ techniques, monitoring the molecular structures without transferring to any substrate. For structural information, X-ray and neutron reflection can be used, while the chemical composition and in-plane ordering can be detected by polarized IR reflection, surface potentiometer and sum frequency generation.
