Glucose sensing characteristics of biosensor based ACFs electrode prepared by urea treatment |

The enzymatic biosensor based on N-doped activated carbon fibers (ACFs) are prepared by activation of carbon fibers with KOH solution and sequential reaction of ACFs with urea. The prepared samples are analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to analysis chemical composition of elements on the surface. Glucose sensing is also carried out by current voltagram (CV) and amperometric methods. The sensor sensitivity and the Michaelis-Menten constant (Km) are affected by varying the percentages of functional groups on the electrode surfaces. The sensitivity is two- to three-fold higher for the biosensors based on urea-treated ACFs than those based on untreated ones. |
