제목 | Ultra-thin QLED Information Display for Wearable Applications |
초록 | We herein present designed synthesis of materials, device fabrication, and system integration to realize an ultra-thin skin-like quantum dot (QD) light-emitting diode (QLED) display. We optimized the shell thickness of the QDs to achieve the high brightness with a low operation voltage and superb electroluminescent properties. As a result, the fabricated QLED display exhibits a brightness of 44,719 cd m-2 at 9 V, which is the highest record among wearable LEDs. In addition, we developed simple but effective device structures and fabrication techniques to realize the passively-driven skin-like QLED display. To validate the fabricated QLED display, we visualized various patterns, including those of letters, numbers, symbols, and animations, using the proposed QLED display conformally laminated on human skin. Furthermore, we demonstrated that the proposed QLED display could endure various mechanical deformations. Finally, we demonstrated that the proposed QLED display could be integrated with conventional flexible electronic circuits for constructing a stand-alone wearable display that can directly visualize measured data against the user’s skin. |
