제목 Dual Functional Self-Assembled Polymeric Monolayers as A New, Facile Platform for Construction of Patterns of Biomolecules
초록 In general, two functionalities are needed for successful construction of protein arrays: i) bioactive surface to immobilize ‘probe’ proteins and ii) antibiofouling one to minimize nonspecific adsorption of unwanted proteins that results in poor S/N ratio. Herein we report a facile approach to immobilize of biomolecules based on self-assembled polymeric monolayers. We have previously shown that the random copolymer, poly(TMSMA-r-PEGMA) could construct highly protein- and cell-resistant surfaces by forming polymeric monolayers. Based on the previous findings, we reasoned that simply introduction of bioreactive function as an additional monomer to the previous copolymer system could create the desired dual functionalities. The copolymer, denoted as poly(TMSMA-r-PEGMA-r-NHSA) was synthesized from three kinds of monomers by radical polymerization. To examine the feasibility of the SAPM, we prepared a micropattern of biomolecules using microcontact printing.
