A study on thermal and mechanical behaviors of expanded graphite/graphite oxide-filled epoxy composites |

In this work, expanded graphite/graphite oxide-filled composites were prepared using a melt mixing method. The morphologies were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The surface characteristics were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The thermal behaviors examined by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) measurements. The mechanical properties were determined by measuring the impact strength and calculating the critical stress intensity factor (KIC). The result indicated that expanded graphite and graphite oxide showed an important role in improving the thermal and mechanical behaviors of epoxy composites. |
