As amino acid, lysine can be used in the assembly of gold nanoparticles (GNPs), that is, amino acids belonging to two different gold nanoparticles can be connected through a condensation reaction with peptide bonding formation, thus leading to a peptide-linked assembly of nanoparticles. Since lysine is an organic agent, and participates in the peptide bonding formation, it should be sensitive to the ambient pH. This report focus on the influences on the assembly of lysine mediated GNPs, including particle size, lysine dosage amount and solution pH. The optical properties were characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy, and SEM was used for the nanostructure of lysine mediated gold nanoparticles. |
