In this study, various pyrolysis recycling methods for recovering recycled carbon fibers (R-CFs) from carbon fiber reinforced composite waste were discussed. The pyrolysis recycling method has been studied in low-energy, high-speed and high-quality production methods, respectively. Also, various gases, temperatures and times were used as variables. Various variables were set by thermal analysis (TGA), the mechanical and surface properties of the R-CFs were characterized with a single fiber tensile test, interface shear strength (IFSS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The recycling efficiency of the R-CFs from the composites were strongly dependent on the pyrolysis temperature, reaction time, and various gases. |
