제목 Exploiting discrete metal–organic polyhedra with molecular complexes to promote catalysis
초록 Atomically and precisely designating active sites is a promising strategy to unravel catalytic reactions. Numerous approaches have been investigated to identify active sites that have brought many controllable properties such as activity, selectivity, and stability. Metal–organic frameworks(MOFs) have opened up a possibility to meet the scarce results. Their various pore structures not only built distinct anchoring sites for active materials on demand but also effectively prevent agglomeration.

In this study, we utilized metal-organic polyhedra (MOP), which has emerged as a new class of porous material, to build discrete active sites and favorable electron transport paths simultaneously. MOP is formed by repeated assemblage, but does not build extended frameworks, thus MOP is definitely distinct from MOFs. Although the MOP as discrete nano-cages has not been explored enough, compared to MOFs as extended micro-solids, they have shown progress in applications such as photocatalysis, gas sorption, molecular sensing, and medicine. We focus on the new opportunity to use molecular complexes as photocatalysts and co-catalysts simultaneously.
