제목 Stability of Square Phase in Blends of Block Copolymer and Homopolymer
초록 The ordered structures in blends of AB-block copolymer and A-homopolymer are theoretically examined by Landau-Ginzburg formalism (LG) and numerically simulated by using a combinatorial screening method with self-consistent field theory (SCFT). A particular focus is given on that the stability of cylindrical phase arranged with square symmetry (SQ) that is known as an unstable structure in AB block copolymer melts due to the packing frustration of the majority blocks to fill the corners of the Wigner-Seitz cell of the square lattice. It is found from both LG and SCFT theories that the cylindrical phase in a hexagonal symmetry transforms to a SQ phase on addition of homopolymers to the matrix phase. This remarkable structure-formation is attributed to the relief of packing frustration of the majority blocks by homopolymers that might be, for a large portion of them, located at the corners of the unit cell.
