In this study, a porous carbon made of polyaniline with different ferrocene loadings was prepared through carbonization and activation with potassium hydroxide. Nitrogen adsorption/desorption measurements showed that the specific surface area and pore volume ranged from 1502 to 1762 m2/g and from 0.632 to 0.804 cm3/g, respectively, with increasing ferrocene loadings. Similarly, elemental mercury adsorption also increased from 98 to 391 mg/m3 at 80 min. It could be resulted that the large specific surface area, total pore volume and iron addition were favorable for the elemental mercury adsorption. |
