Carbon nanotubes are widely investigated as composite materials due to their novel structural, electronic, and mechanical properties. Especially well-arrayed CNTs are highly desirable to enhance the physical properties in nanodevices. In this study, we studied on the preparation of organogel/SWNT nanocomposites. A thiophene-based gelator was synthesized, which showed an ability to gelate organic solvents such as toluene, xylene, tetrahydrofuran, and chloroform. An organogel/SWNT nanocomposite was obtained by dispersing SWNTs in an organogel. The TEM and SEM study showed that carbon nanotubes were well dispersed in the organogel system. |
