Mesophase Development in Petroleum Pitches as Binder Pitches for Carbon/Carbon Composites |
| 초록 |
Petroleum pitches were used to produce mesophase pitch used as binder pitches for carbon/carbon (C/C) composites. Petroleum pitches were thermally treated at 260~340℃ to remove low molecular compounds in the pitch, and then increasing the temperature of the pitch to 400℃ to form anisotropic mesophase as the second stage temperature. The characterizations of the petroleum and mesophase pitches were measured by elemental analysis, coke yield, solubility, and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Polarization microscope was used to investigate the mesophase content of the petroleum pitches. Pyrolysis behaviors of the petroleum and mesophase pitches were also analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG/DTG) |
