Synthesis and electrochemical properties of a crosslinked poly(DMAEMA-co-MMA)s as gel polymer electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries |

In this study, we have synthesized random copolymers which contain 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) by radical polymerization using AIBN as an initiator. The gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs) containing D4-epoxy, poly(DMAEMA-co-MMA)s and liquid electrolyte could be prepared by thermal curing at 65℃. Amine group of DMAEMA is a functional polymer backbone for increasing crosslinking rate and MMA can provide better solubility in liquid electrolytes such as ethylene carbonate/propylene carbonate (EC/PC). We confirmed the completion of polymerization of monomers and the molecular weight of copolymers by NMR and GPC, respectively. The ionic conductivity of GPEs was increased as the higher content of liquid electrolyte and the lower content of D4-epoxy. The effects of the ratio of D4-epoxy to copolymers and the amounts of liquid electrolyte on the ionic conductivity and electrochemical properties will be further discussed. |
