Stimuli-responsive behavior of Chitosan/PEG blend hydrogel films |

The rigid and brittle chitosan was fabricated into a hydrogel film by blending with PEG. The biocompatible chitosan/PEG hydrogel films were studied in terms of stimuli-responsive swelling behavior. The swelling of blend hydrogel increased due to the increased water solubility of PEG as either the content of PEG or the temperature increased. The swelling of blend hydrogel increased due to the basic property of chitosan component as the pH of swelling medium decreased. |
