In recent years, a variety of strategies to effluent stream treatment through organic ligand have been researched. Adsorption of heavy metal ions has been researched based on the covalent grafting of functional group complexes. We synthesized grafting polymer functionalized with amine group which has strong affinity to metal ions. The crumpled polymer is an efficient material for collecting metal ions from aqueous stream like wastewater. To synthesis crumpled poly (allylamine-co-methacrylic acid), all components are prepared in aqueous system and polymerized via free radical polymerization. Structure is identified by 1H-NMR and FT-IR. The thermal characteristic is confirmed by TGA and DSC. On the continuous stirring process, selectivity and adsorption capacity of crumpled polymer are studied by ICP-OES and UV-vis spectroscopy. At the point of easy process and distinctive morphology, enhanced adsorption property makes them suitable alternatives for organic adsorbent. |
