Magnetic nanoparticles have been drawing expressive technological interests in various fields, including ferrofluids materials, catalysts, colored pigments, medical diagnostics and therapy. One of the most important applications is disposable biosensors that have been used widely in the detecting device. However it faces the serious challenge of false signal comes from non-specific interactions. In this study, we applied functional coatings on magnetic particles that were comprised of polyelectrolytes. The created polyelectrolyte multilayer films are made by layer-by-layer process with either poly(acrylic acid) or poly(metacrylic acid) and poly(allylamine hydrochloride). The super-paramagnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitation, and spontaneously coated with polyelectrolyte multilayer film. In that way, we could prevent irreversible coagulation of magnetic particles. Moreover, we demonstrated some other application of this system related with microfluidic system. |
