Synthesis of Through-space Conjugated Polymers: One-dimensional Layered π-Electron Systems |
초록 |
Over the last three decades, conjugated polymers have been at the forefront of polymer research. The growing interest in these polymers is attributed to their unique optical and electronic properties in addition to advantageous features such as low weight and film-forming ability. Almost all the conjugated polymers reported thus far are through-bond conjugated polymers consisting of sp or sp2 carbon frameworks; only a few studies have been conducted on the synthesis of through-space conjugated polymers comprising stacked aromatic systems. During the course of our studies on conjugated polymers, we have focused our attention on [2.2]paracyclophane with π-stacked benzene rings. We have successfully synthesized through-space conjugated polymers containing [2.2]paracyclophane units in the polymer backbones, in which π-electron systems are one-dimensionally layered. In this presentation, we discuss their synthesis, fundamental properties, and the role of the [2.2]paracyclophane skeletons. |
