Ferrocene capsulated zeolite imidazole frameworks for optical and electrochemical detection of Amyloid-β |

In this work, ferrocene capsulated zeolite imidazole frameworks (ZIF-8/Fer) were prepared for the detection of amyloid-beta (Aβ). The frame ZIF-8 hinders the emission of ferrocene, while the competitive coordination between Aβ and the metal node of ZIF-8 dissembles ZIF-8, resulting in the release of ferrocene for Aβ sensing. The size and morphology of ZIF-8/Fer were characterized by scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction patterns. The released ferrocene depended on Aβ concentration was determined by UV/Vis spectrometer and cyclic voltammetry. The developed Aβ sensor based on ZIF-8/Fer shows excellent sensitivity and low detection limit. The Aβ-sensor can be used in practical for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. |
