TMS and APDMES precursors were used in different proportions to make robust thin film on glass surface at atmospheric pressure by non-thermal dielectric barrier discharge plasma jet. The goal of the work to fine optimum mixture of these two precursors that will make robust hydrophobic thin film on glass surface. A high voltage alternating current (11.5 kHz) was used to generate plasma jet for producing a coating layer onto the soda-lime glass sample. Water contact angle of 163° and a stable mechanical strength were achieved at an optimal APDMES/TMS ratio of 1.7. Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), static water contact angle (WCA), and scratch test were done to analyze the coating. |
