제목 | Poisson’s ratio engineering by nanofiller alignment and shrinking |
초록 | In the development of transparent andstretchable films, the problem related with film’s positive poisson's ratio hasbecome a critical issue. The typical poisson’s ratio of rubbers is 0.5. In thisresearch, we tried to solve the issue by lowering the value of Poisson's ratiothrough filler alignment. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) andpoly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) are used as fillers, and PDMS was used asan elastomeric matrix. CNCs and PNIPAm were aligned by a directional freezingmethod. Then, PNIPAm induced shrinking of the pores, which makes reentrantstructures. Thereafter, the pores were filled by PDMS infiltration, andelasticity was imparted. The alignment of the film and the pores was confirmedby SEM cross-sectional analysis. In the tensile tests of the films, the averagePoisson's ratio in the strain from 0.15 to 0.35 was found to be under 0.2. Thisapproach could be utilized for the future development of stable wearable electronics. |
