Landfill gas (LFG) is one of the valuable biogas resources such as livestock waste, food waste and byproduct of biofuels, etc. Purification of landfill gas (LFG) including methane, carbon dioxide, air, sulfur, siloxane, and water vapors requires low energy consumption, ecofriendly process, and low maintenance operation. Membrane separation is the promising technology to purify LFG gas due to the small footprint and the flexible operation with ecofriendly process. In this work, a total system is constructed from the pretreatment such as dehumidification, desulfurization, siloxane removal to the CO2/CH4 membrane cascade and the nitrogen separation using pressure-swing adsorption (PSA). For the 1 Nm3/min of LFG, methane is upgraded up to 97% where the methane recovery ratio is reached to 70%. |
