Development of multi-layer colorimetric hydrogen sensors with visibility and stability |
초록 |
Hydrogen is an eco-friendly gas which attracted tremendous interest worldwide as a next generation clean and more efficient energy source. So hydrogen detection technologies such as gasochromic switchable films are continuously required. The commonly known colorimetric hydrogen sensor is fabricated using a sol-gel based solution coating of metal oxide semiconductors, which makes it difficult to control the film thickness, resulting in poor visibility and consistency. In this study, layer-by-layer films were fabricated using poly ethylene-co-vinyl acetate(EVA) as UV blocking film layers and WO3-SiO2 as colorimetric film to improve the visibility and stability of WO3 gas sensors. Compared to the single layered sensor, multi-layered gasochromic hydrogen sensors operated well at room-temperature and had higher visibility as well as increased stability against UV light by introducing EVA films. We have demonstrated visible and stable colorimetric hydrogen sensors at room-temperature. |
