In order to improve incident to photon conversion efficiency (IPCE) of photovoltaic devices (PVDs), the materials should have low band gap energy less than 1.8 eV. High Voc is also critical parameter for improving PV efficiency. To make pi-conjugated polymers showing wide absorption range and high Voc, we introduce 9H-fluoren-9-one or 2-(9H-fluoren-9-ylidene)malononitrile, which are known as very strong electron acceptors. We synthesize new copolymers based on 2-(2,7-dibromo-fluoren-9-ylidene)-malononitrile (or 2,7-Dibromo-fluoren-9-one) and 1,4-bis-dodecyloxy-2,5-divinyl-benzene by the Heck coupling reaction to get wide absorption range and high Voc. In this study, we will report synthesis, optical, and electrochemical properties of new copolymers. Also, the PV properties based on blend of new copolymers and PCBM will be discussed. |
