제목 Determination of surface adhesion energy between Polyamide 6,6/surface modified CNT and its effect on mechanical properties
초록 The surface of the CNTs was treated with proper organic molecules to fabricate nylon 6,6/CNT composite having enhanced interfacial adhesion and mechanical properties. CNTs grafted with nylon 6,6 were produced by reacting acyl chloride formed onto CNTs with nylon 6,6 via reactive extrusion. Formation of the nylon 6,6 grafted CNTs was confirmed with FT-IR, XPS, FE-SEM and HR-TEM. Changes in the interfacial adhesion between CNTs and nylon 6,6 and the mechanical properties of the nylon 6,6/CNT composites with surface treatment of CNTs were investigated. It was demonstrated that there is a strong correlation between interfacial adhesion energies of CNT and nylon 6,6 and the mechanical properties of their composites. Nylon 6,6 composites containing nylon 6,6 grafted CNTs exhibited higher adhesion energy and better mechanical properties than those containing pristine CNTs.
