Synthesis and Fluorescence Properties of Deep Blue Light Emitters for OLEDs Applications |

Recently, there has been considerable interest in developing blue organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs), with high efficiency, deep blue color, and long operational lifetime. Deep blue color is defined arbitrarily as having a blue electroluminescent emission with a Commission Internationale de l’ Eclairage (CIE x,y) coordinates of x ~ 0.15 and y <0.15. Such emitters can effectively reduce the power consumption of a full-color OLED and can also be utilized to generate light of other colors by energy cascade to a suitable emissive dopant. In this study, we designed and synthesized deep blue emitters based on carbazole-quinoline derivatives for OLEDs. We fabricated various multilayered OLED devices using this new blue material, and studied optical and electro-luminescence properties of these devices. |
