A tritium plant, in a nuclear fusion facility, is comprised fo the Tokamak Exhaust processing (TEP) system, the lsotope Separation Systems (ISS), the Analytical System (ANS) and the Storage and Delivery System (SDS). The main function of the SDS is to store and supply hydrogen isotopes needed for Tokamak operation. The SDS bed is used for storing hydrogen isotopes as a metal hydride form. The focus is on the heating-up characteristics, which is desirable for a rapid delivery of hydrogen isotopes by desorption from the metal hydride. |
