Various polymeric blends based on poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVdF) / sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (sPAES) have been investigated for the application of unitized regenerative fuel cell. sPAES was selected as the proton-conducting material in a blend with either PVdF. The PVdF was added to improve the dimensional stability in the URFC operation. The PVdF / sPAES blends displayed only one glass transition temperature, which indicated the miscibility between PVdF and sPEEK. The blend membrane of PVdF/sPAES shows the good proton conductivity.
