Toxic gas removal by activated carbon fiber |

The toxic gas adsorption mechanism of activated carbon fibers (ACFs) was investigated based on specific surface area, pore structure and surface functional group. The electrical resistance of ACFs was measured during gas adsorption to study gas adsorption mechanism. Dimethyl Methylphosphonate (DMMP) gas was removed based on physical adsorption on the surface of ACFs. The electrical resistance during DMMP adsorption and DMMP removal efficiency showed the similar trend comparing with nitrogen isotherms. In addition, the initial adsorption capacity within few seconds dominated the adsorption behavior. The DMMP adsorption behavior was discussed in detail based on electrical resistance. |
