Novel fluorinated polyurethane elastomers were synthesized by two step urethane reaction of the fluorinated polyols based on poly(vinylidenefluoride-co-hexafluoro perpene)(2,000g/mol) or Fomblin ZDOL® (2,000g/mol, Sovey Co.) and diisocyanate such as 4,4'-methylene-bis(phenyl isocyanate)(MDI) in the presence of a solvent (DMAc/THF ; 3/1, v/v), followed by subsequent chain extension with low molecular weight diol such as 1,4-butanediol(BDO). In order to control the fluorinated polyol moiety of the soft segment in the synthesized elastomer to 10~50mol%, polyether type polyols such as polytetramethylene glycol(PTMG; 2,000g/mol)) were mixed during the polymerization reaction. The structure and surface properties of polyurethane containing fluoropolyols were confirmed by using FT-IR, XPS and Water Contact Angle meter. |
