Improved Charge Injection Balance of Ink-jet Printed QLEDs by Reducing Oxygen Vacancies of ZnO NPs ETL by IPL Post-treatment |

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) post-treatment to improve the charge injection balance of the ink-jet printed quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) was researched. The tendency of the current-voltage-luminance (IVL) characteristics of QLEDs to deteriorate after device fabrication was analyzed by investigating the trend depending on the presence or absence of device encapsulation. The amount of traps and electrons in the zinc-oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) electron transport layer (ETL) was reduced as the oxygen vacancies in the ETL were filled with oxygen by the light and thermal energy of the IPL post-treatment process. As a result, stable IVL characteristics of QLEDs was achieved by improving the hole-electron injection balance in the QD EML, and also, it was confirmed that the lifetime characteristics of QLEDs was also improved. |
