Metal-semiconductor nanostructures have been the subject of great interest due to their interesting optical properties and potential applications in light harvesting, photocatalysts and photovoltaic devices. Here, We prepared organic-inorganic hybrid nanostructures of the Poly [2,6-(4,4-bis-(2-ethylhexyl)-4H-cyclopenta ] [2,1-b;3,4-b′ ]dithiophene)-alt-4,7(2,1,3-benzothiadiazole) (PCPDTBT)- Ag nanoparticle composite by a simple emulsification method. The resulting core-shell hybrid nanoparticles showed efficient visible-light active photocatalysis which was confirmed by the degradation of methylene blue with visible-light irradiation. Photostability of the hybrid nanoparticles was enhanced by wrapping the surface of the conjugated polymer nanoparticles with silver shell. |
