Highly Optical and Interfacial Performance of PEDOT-b-PEG Block Copolymer Counter Electrode for Polymer Electrolyte-Based Solid-State Dye-sensitized Solar Cells |

We developed fascinating optical and interfacial performing novel counter electrode (CE) as ideal for polymer electrolyte employed soild-state dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs), consisting of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-g-poly(ethylene glycol) block copolymer (PEDOT-b-PEG) on FTO by a facile fabrication process at room temperature. This CE exhibited not only high transparency and low reflectivity, but also good interfacial property with solid-state polymer electrolyte (SPE) in comparison with PEDOT nanofiber (NF) and even Pt one. Energy conversion efficiency (ECE) of DSC employing SPE with the PEDOT-b-PEG CE was 8.45% which is higher than those with PEDOT NF and even Pt one (8.25%). Above ECE of PEDOT-b-PEG CE is one of record efficiency ever reported in Pt-free CE for I-/I3- redox couple and PEO-based SPE under 1 sun conditions. The facile fabrication process of PEDOT-b-PEG CE is quite rosy for the future roll-to-roll production of completely flexible devices. |
